We left my parents house at around three. (Let me also mention we were all sick this weekend: fevers, sore throats, blah, the whole kit-n-kaboodle.) Before we even got on the turnpike we had to stop and get drinks and cash for tolls. Then, Miller had a poopy diaper, totally cramping our traveling style. We proceeded to get on the turnpike, which is about an hour drive to our exit. In Florida fashion, we ended up going 40 mph because of a torrential downpour. I had my polarized glasses on and was so close to the windshield I am surprised it didn't fog. Travis, Flower, and Miller were all safe in the back seat. We got off the turnpike and had to merge onto 60... (this is when I realized we should have left Saturday.) I went all the way to the end of the merge lane and weaseled my way in, getting told off by a manly looking woman in an Accord (grr...). We drive about 20 minutes and come to a dead stop. (I'm tired of telling the story now). There is a terrible accident about 1/2 mile ahead. The trauma hawk is there, there are emergency vehicles everywhere. So we sat. We sat for 2 hours. I was not even upset we were waiting. I was thankful that we weren't in the accident, that we stopped twice, that there was a rain storm, and that we were all there safe, enjoying one another (that of course doesn't include Flower, HAHA!).
When we passed where the accident was, one of the vehicles had been opened like a tuna can. It was terrible. The people involved were probably eating Thanksgiving dinner with their families this past Thursday. I am thankful I was with mine!

So... here I am, I actually have time to do the blog, I'm feeling bloggy... yet, I cannot find my camera! So, here's a picture that Liza took as we were walking out of the door of Miller's First Thanksgiving! Notice how he isn't wearing a cute little onesie that says "Baby's 1st Thanksgiving" ... !! I completely forgot to get one and am just getting over feeling like a total failure. I'm sure he didn't mind : )
